Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

That's JustOne hell of an extraction right there! I loaded a White Chocolate CO2 oil tonite. Hitting nice. Somewhat thin. I didn't like the taste at first, but as the oil sets in it's tasting nice. Hope everyones having a nice night. :)

Thanks, on second glance I guess it is ceramic. My apology for jumping to conclusions.

Now I guess I need to sit tight and wait for the persei, I hope it lives up to all the hype!

Thanks for the info, I'll leave you with a little porn from Seattle...

Bummer!!! I've lurking a little while, I really wanted my first post to be on a positive note.....but alas it's not......my damn charger has failed.....i clean contacts frequently.......so, being that the damn threads a propriatery, this means no omi for me until I order a new charger(got omi in December).....and waranty says charger ain't covered.....damn damn damn.......i would'nt be so upset but the omi's portability has allowed me to be a non-combuster ever since i got it.....it's sooo awsome when i'm out and about(say frisbie golfin') a friend offers me a bowl(thats usually when i end up combusting) and i pull out the omi...anywayz, it's dead.....seven full carts, lots of spray n vac time, but alas no omi. :(...
why did i allow myself to rely on this sooo fully(cuz i LUV it!!!) I know it's "portable" but WAAAHHH!!!Now i have to go get my No2 back from my friends.....

Sorry bout' the rant........ Redneck

Thinking out loud here.....

Chargers seem to die because the threaded end that mates with the 'funny' Omicron battery thread is frail, gets stuck to stuff and otherwise is a PITA. Right?

THC will sell you adapters so you can use other makers carts (read standard 510 thread) on the Omicron 'funny thread' batteries, right?

Omicron (and also Atmos BTW....) chargers cost many times more than 'the same thing' in 510 threads....so, why not buy the cheaper, easier to get and more reliable 510 unit and use the adapter to charge your Omicron with it? Or better yet just use one you already have (since a lot of guys seem to have piles of 510 stuff).

Not only is it cheaper this way, but the frail part of the connections is no longer changed every time you charge (the adapter stays on the charger). Oil leaks, etc, don't matter like they did before.

Mind you I've not tried this, stuff might not fit for whatever reason, but it seems like it's worth looking into.

OF,
Ya know what OF....I was thinking that same exact thing but ive never seen a 510 charger and didn't know if they were any sturdier......hmmmmm....i have a feeling that another omi charger wont stand the test of time sooo who wants a 510 adapter?? I think they come in 3 or 4 packs....I should only need one......or maybe someone wants to trade an extra 510 charger for a couple adapters.....just a thought......

If you're desperate I'm pretty sure this will charge your battery:

That will bypass the charging circuit and connect the battery straight to the 5v 0.5a usb outlet. Let me measure the current it actually draws before you do this too much but 30s or so should give at least 7s of use. Of course it's pretty hard on the battery but if you use it sparingly I think it could hold you over until you find a new charger.

Also if one day your battery needs to be replaced you absolutely didn't do this :D

All of my 510 chargers are exactly like the one for the Omi, only different threading for the connection point. I have had many of the 510 chargers fail too, they are just not made very well in general. The adapter should work fine, if you already have the other stuff, I have a TON of 510 chargers and other battery related items. I have been using my Atmos charger on my Omibattery, it is the small stick that has the built in USB plug, no wire, works just as good as the one it came with. I thought that other people are also having trouble with the charger failing, and they have been going to the delta 9 website and opening a ticket...not sure if that is the same for this situation, but it couldn't hurt.

Actually it's my understanding that the failures have all been connector failures, not circuit ones. Which makes sense, that charger is used a LOT it seems, the difference is the connector.

I'm thinking if you use the adapter as the male thread to mate with the Omicron you'll get a much more solid connector, not prone to failure by mechanical means like now. It might be ugly, and maybe a little awkward and all, but it's cheaper and probably more reliable than a replacement?

If you were handy with a soldering iron, you could probably hack a male connector from an Omicron cart threaded section and kluge something up with your broken unit??

OF,
Thanks J and OF, you just gave me an idea....I fly rc and have multiple chargers.......so i think ill just take out the screw contact, and solder on one of my rc plugs......i'll report back some specifics about the batteries capacity(my chargers are super sweet)......this battery is supposed to be 1100 mah, 3.7 volt li-ion???

I thought it was 900mah, but it doesn't really matter.

Any charger meant for 3.7v lithium batteries will charge it perfectly.

What you want to do is find the actual url of the uploaded image. This is rarely the url of the page on the host site. What I do is click on image properties, and copy the url of the image location. One way to test it is to open up a new browser window, then paste this url that you've identified by clicking on the image properties, and paste that url into your new browser. Hit enter and you should see a blank page with nothing but the image. In the case of your image, the url is http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/964/imageoop.jpg

So by clicking on the image icon here in FC, and pasting that url in the dialog box, you will get this:
imageoop.jpg

Hope that helps.

I use imgur.com, they rename it and give you links in all kinds of formats. (You want BB code for this forum)

Looks like the 'broken center lead' failure so often reported here. As I understand it, it flexes normally (bad karma....) but can also get stuck to the battery and pulled out with leaked oil.

If you're handy with soldering, you should be able to put it right?

It's good to know the most common problem is easily repairable!

unfortunately, this can happen with many of the lithium battery devices as well, including cell phones and laptops. It is horrible that his battery vented in his face, and that also can happen when you stack batteries (careful persei users) it is VERY important to know your battery info when stacking for high voltage use. I hope that gets covered when the persei gets released. It is not a common problem, and I wonder if something shorted out the battery (like a cheap atomizer that was not wired properly) in the case of that e cig exploding. Most ecig style batteries have a circuit protection in line, that is supposed to cut connection if it overloads, so the battery does not blow. That is also true of the "protected" style batteries you should use in the persei.

I like trying to fit inside small holes but this is ridiculous.......he heh

Thanx for ALL the help!!!

Redneck

I had a feeling you might try to do it that way... that's why I posted my pic.

If you take a small screwdriver you can push out the center bit. Just thread the red wire through the rubber and solder the wire on the other side. Then push the center back into the rubber and viola!

Battery Edit: What jam band said is true but luckily we have lots of bits of metal between us and the Omicron battery. If the battery does go runaway for whatever reason the metal cap on the bottom should just pop off, if THC designed it right... otherwise it might pop the positive plate and vent up through the cartridge :o
