FAKE TINYMIGHT VAPES

Aliexpress is selling a whole bunch of vapes that they claim are real Tinymight vapes.

One of the pictures shows that they even write "Made in Finland" on them. Check out the bottom and you will notice a phillips head screw. Not the screw we have in the genuine Tinymights.

The pictures make it look genuine. Buyer Beware!

Very true, but unlike cheap Chinese glass, the TM fake is straight trash. My main concern is the secondhand market. I'd need a pic of the serial number and receipt before buying used.

I've seen one in the flesh. Same ribbon could style heater but looks to be slightly less turns. Completely different circuitry. Awful threads on everything. Same basic principles. Id bet a LOT of people are selling these secondhand as genuine. Saw one in eBay a while back that looked very suspicious indeed. Emailed the seller, no response so reported to eBay. Sold for £200 odd iirc. Really shit thing to do.

Also worth noting the circuit board was blue inside, unlike the genuine TM.

I have several of these and decided to take a couple apart to examine the insides and repair them if possible.

Background: I decided to disassemble one that had a defect - in the on-demand mode at high modes, its vibration did not work, signaling that the temperature had been reached, as a result of which the device continued to warm up endlessly. A little later, I decided to disassemble the second working device in order to replace the broken one with a beautiful wooden case, the texture of which was more beautiful than that of the working one. I was especially concerned about the material of the heater; I wanted to find out what material it was made of.

A little about the devices themselves. They have serial numbers. They have the inscription "Made in Finland". Box, pouch, instructions. I don’t have the original. As far as I know, some differences with the authentic device are as follows:

1) Complete metal rod made of stainless steel and not titanium
2) the battery is inserted in reverse, with the plus side inward.
3)No temperature calibration mode
4) LEDs cannot be turned off
5) The batteries included are Noname, not Molicel 26A

Comments on photos:
1) The red stick shows through which holes the air moves
2) Among the photos there are 2 pieces with magnets - on one the magnet easily stuck to the current-carrying busbar, which shows. that it is made of some kind of steel, but the magnet did not stick to the heater itself in the other photo. Or rather, it sticks, but very weakly, which means the heater is made of stainless steel.
3) a shiny disk (heater base) made of aluminum or a similar alloy.
4) the current-carrying busbar is screwed to the upper part with a solid screw, i.e. The problems that the first version had (loss of power) are excluded here.
5) the heating element is a strip of stainless steel wound into a roll. To prevent overlap, 4 white glass sticks pass through the heater, stringing layers of the heater onto themselves (like a shish kebab on a skewer). The structure cannot be assembled if it is disassembled. So, under no circumstances remove the heater from the glass tube.

P.S. It would be great if someone would add a photo of the insides of the original here for comparison.
