E-Nano XL from Epicvape

Recently picked up another WPA with a carb from JoDa @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd

I also commissioned him to create a custom j-hook (which I shared a picture of in the TM2 thread yesterday). Not only does his WPA's work with both a TM2 and the E-Nano XL, but this custom j-hook can stand freely with either device.

He did an amazing job, I'm very pleased, and you can expect a more detailed review from me in the future.
Hey man do you mind me asking how much that custom j hook ran yah? This is my first log and I'm absolutely diggin it. Recently been trying to find what glass to get in order to make it more intriguing for guest to want to try. I've been peepin joda's work every since I got my enano xl a couple months ago and this is just what I'm looking for.

Really wish customs would hurry up so I could try mine. I've got the special plug sorted to deal with the difference in voltage, so ready to go once it clears customs 😬

Shoot me a message bud. If you’re not using my accessories yet then you haven’t even seen the XL at its full potential.

This was a custom commission as part of a bigger request (the j-hook is 2 pieces, the WPA that works in the E-nano XL as well as the TM2, and the j-hook with a 14mm female joint). Reach out to @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd if you want something similar. Cheers!

Thank y'all for the help! Appreciate it. Haha I don't doubt that. I'll be coming through soon to get some of your work!

Hey all. Pretty new to vaping and have the Enano XL.

I was wanting to get a small bubbler with a 10mm female joint and I'm wondering what adapter I need. Would the SonG adapter from EpicVape be compatible? On EpicVape's site it says 14mm or 18mm but I saw PotV mentions it supports 10mm too. Would JoDa's WPA be compatible?

Here are the links if it helps.

I think the WPA SonG is not very good because 1) It's not just glass, making cleaning more cumbersome 2) The E-nano XL doesn't balance alone on the SonG, you have to hold it.

Not sure about the spherical pocket bubbler.

Regardless of your decision, you should reach out to JoDa to ask about a 10mm WPA.

Joda's WPA is 14mm but I'm sure it can be made as a 10mm piece, or add a 10mm-14mm converter.

Ahh gotcha gotcha. Good to know the SonG wouldn't fit right. Thank you! I'll message them.

I see. I wonder if JoDa would be able to make that converter too. I think going the converter route would be best for me in case I decide to get more glass pieces. Good suggestion. Thanks!

Can make them with whatever joint and orientation you would like. 10,14,18 male and female. And can make converters as well.

I've had a few months with this vape and think I've got a good idea of its capabilities and I've definitely pushed it!

Look and feel
This vape looks amazing! The metal lining on the log looks awesome, I'm sure some might not like it but I'm digging it. Also the temp controller looks incredible! The metal surround, the dial, it all feels so premium. Don't think I could fault this at all.

The log does get VERY warm. It's fine for me, but if it got any hotter then it would be a problem. Although as someone with Reynauds, it can sometimes help warm my hand up 😂

I've got the additional stand which feels like a must-have accessory, that in combination with a desk tidy has meant my vape area is the tidiest it's been in a long time.

Mouthpieces + WPA
I was lucky enough to get a bundle with the stock and ice mouthpieces, the Ed's TNT stem/WPA, the SonG and Joda WPAs.

I'm really glad I did as my opinion of this vape might have been different. I've not used the stock mouthpiece as it seems pointless when I've got the ice one, which I have tried several times in different ways and I've not rated it at all.

Ed's stem has me mixed up. So I love the look and feel of it. I really want to like it more but I feel like it's too short for a stem and a bit long for a WPA.

The vapour is a little hot when using as a stem, and it's a bit wobbly as a WPA. I still use it as a stem sometimes but it's lacking a bit otherwise it would be my number one way to use this vape.

I've also never used the SonG WPA because why bother when I've got the Joda one! The Joda WPA is my daily driver with the Enano XL. Bowl after bowl, it delivers and then some. Perfect fit and it feels secure. Obviously the fact it needs a metal screen has been talked about so I'm not going to go over old ground there. Being as clumsy/careless as I am I've managed to chip mine, but got a new one ordered.

General usage
I'm running the Enano XL at a touch over 6 on the temp controller, which seems just right for me to get a darkish brown roast on my AVB without the vapour being too hot. I've noticed that even a slight changes on the dial can influence how dark your AVB can get.

I have pushed this thing for real! I was loading bowl after bowl and it never lacked power. A couple of times I thought I'd overwhelmed the heater but actually it was my herb that was spent 🤣

Nothing has stopped this vape delivering. I've loaded a pod thing that fit inside Ed's stem with some old school hash and hit it repeatedly for a long while and it went on and on.

No matter what I've tried, nothing stops this heater for me which makes me happy. I've been searching for a desktop that could deliver in this way for me since my Deskpod died, and also something without an exposed coil because I'm tired of burning myself and the carpet 🤦🏽‍♂️

The instructions are a little hopeful saying it's a 5 minute heat up time, more like 10 minutes IMO, but that's fine. I can wait 10 minutes when it performs like this. I'm sure for lower settings 5 minutes heat up is sufficient.

I don't know if there's much else to say. It does the job impeccably! Absolute workhouse of a vape. Also it seems to extract more out of my herb than any other vape. Even when the AVB looks dark brown, there can be some good hits left.

Glad to see youve liked it. I agree with basically all you say. Setting aside the performance with stock stems, The Enano XL is awesome.

Having had and extensively used the basic power dial that comes with the OG and NXT, I also really appreciate this power puck the XL comes with... not only for aesthetics but also for fuctionality... it really is a big improvement over the basic dial. All my OG or NXT owning friends already upgraded to this power puck after they used mine.

I also agree with the log getting very warm... much warmer than what I would consider comfortable coming from WS log. But my real problem with this was the wood cracking as it happened with OGs but so far having my XL on 24/7 mon-friday on setting 5.5 and sat-sundays bettween 5.5 and 6.5, has yet to show any issues. And well, the hand-warming benefits are new perks for me heheheh.

Also, coming froma WS and having owned OG Enanos, I can also really appreciate the base the NXT and the XLs have. It makes the log much more stable to leave standing and also gives a nice grabbing place if you dont wanna grab the wood (my case since I sweat alot and dont feel comfortable getting my sweat on the wood).

I'm already saving up to get a another XL.

What is the difference between XL and NXT? The only info i could find at the website is that NXT is compatible with OG stems. I already have a bunch of OG stems, so if NXT is just as performant as XL but compatible I would upgrade to that instead of XL.

- XL performs better, because the XL has the heat cartrige inside a bigger casing/cylnder that holds better on to heat. This is evident with back to back hits and low temp hits.
-XL stems have slightly bigger bowl.
-XL comes with a better and prettier power dial.

Ok, so what is the NXT?

I own an OG E-Nano, so I'm no expert, but as I understand it, the NXT is the "next generation" of basic E-Nano, the OG's successor. It has a wider base (that little flange thing), some modest changes to the innards (I think), perhaps one or two other minor differences. People seem to like the wider base (I can understand that); dunno if the other differences are that noticeable to the user (though they might affect performance somewhat).

The XL, if I understand correctly, has more power, wider stems (so more surface area presenting to the heat), a double-screen system (although at least some people just wing it and don't use the second screen), the same wider base, and likely some of the other innards differences. Basically a bit larger, for larger loads, and with more power to make that work. Oh, and I believe the XL comes standard with a newer power cord "puck", as @cosimo mentioned above; not sure if that's true for the NXT, but I think you can optionally upgrade in any case.

I hope that helps (and I hope someone corrects me if I'm off on my claims).

Yup, @Seek , in comparison to an OG , the NXT has the wide base as the XL has, inside metalic lining to help disipate heat better and not affect the wood as the XL has, but everythin else is the same as the OG.

If you do go the XL route, try to get it on sale so you can use thes extra cash for an aftermath stem and/or some Viton or High temp silicone oring in case stock stems dont seal well.

One positive that I can say about the factory E nano stems are that they are made out of thick glass and heavy.

The newer power puck is very nice, but not perfect. The wood panel that shows the pointer mark for your temp moves around a lot. When it moves, it won't show you the proper temp. EG. it will say 7 when your actually at 6.5. It's easy to fix though, you lineup the wood panel pointer to the 0 on the dial and your good.

The stock stems are terrible and aren't even worth trying over the Joda WPA. Not heard of the aftermath stem, do you have a link please @cosimo ?
Sorry, I mean third party stems like JoDa's.
As far As I know, only JoDa makes glass stems for the XL.

Yeah, Epicvape stems are quite durable and at a great price.

Neither my puck nor the three Ive seen my friends got recently for their enanos have that problem. Ive dropped and banged my puck several times so I Will be on the look in case it happens. Thanks for the info.

I don't have the xl, but I do have both og and ntg. The differences are the wider base and inner metal core, which helps the wood not get quite as hot, but at the expense of the wood being thinner. Both work the same, so if you are wanting bigger, hotter, more then nxg won't provide that. I have a condition that made the heat dissipation important for my hands, but liked the og performance, so I'm happy.
