People using wands are you using any sort of insert in there? I’ve been nervous ever since I managed to partially melt my sk insert with the ta.
I’ve been using a torch but I’d like to try the wand again at some point.

I only use the Wand with my TA, I don't like messing around with torches. I am not using any special insert. I have a ceramic tile where I vape. I turn the wand on, set it down on the tile, and stand the TA up in the hole. I don't need to hold it, just set it on that tile and nothing gets burned. I wait for the indicator light on the wand to show me its done heating, drop the TA with WPA in my bong and it is perfect every time. WARNING IF YOU ARE DOING BACK TO BACK LOADS. The second time I don't let the TA sit in the Wand until the light indicates done, it will be too hot. For the second heat up I've been counting 15 seconds and then back to the bong.

I love the colors the TA takes with time, the pattern on the screw is really nice @fangorn !

I love that WPA, I remember PP doing really lovely ones at that time ! Really elegant

Edit : those second reheat can really be a traitor !

The heat transfer was my concern. I’ll have to see if I can find a spare piece of tile to set it on. I definitely didn’t want to sit there holding it.
Do you have the wand set to max temp( which I think is just a longer timer)

Ceramic, glass, wood, wool, leather, silicone, cork, etc are fairly resistant to heat--enough for most of our applications--and felt is a good protector as well. I think any of those would suffice, but the ceramic tile is an especially elegant idea, imo.

the only problem with this one is the chamber is too large, and the fact that I have to manage a hemp fiber filter to resolve that... it adds an additional step and accessories which risks influencing the test of scope
I've reduced my bowl size with its ring to this depth.
The ring is not seated in any notch, just friction held. Simply slide the bowl ring to desired length and fix the screen on top, seems to hold pretty good so far.

I'm going for a wider bowl in order to extract more at the same time, might be helpful for you as well.

oh sorry, I wasn't clear and/or the translator didn't help...

I saw the ring on the TA.
I was talking about Terpedo where I use hemp fiber to reduce the size.

but thanks for the feedback!!!

These are very handy vapes, simple, flexible, fun. Haven't gotten around to bigger pipes yet, it's so nice on a small rig or stem. Besides the adjustable bowl it seems reasonably adjustable temp-wise, so you can hit it hard or have an easy session. I like that it's just the right size to function well: not too heavy but big enough to hold heat for a while.

Edit: Yep, works in big rigs, too.

I use my anvil in wand like you describe, but was worried to use the TA3 this way, I am worried when heating the Resin of flower will flow into the balls and then I would have to clean the balls often…

That is a lovely stem ! I love the metal / wood pattern, and that extra long metal bullit. Did I you make it ?

And how has your testing being going ? :science:
Thank you. It really is a beautiful stem. The wood is Zebrano. It was made by a really talented guy based in the UK I've had the chance of meeting online. However at the moment I've actually managed to lose it somewhere inside my house, my heart has been broken since it happened the day before yesterday. :(

Testing is going really good, I'm still dialing in my torch technique, but it really chucks vapor once hit the sweet spot.
My only complaint is that I'm getting excessively high (so high that I start losing stuff inside my house) , my previous daily driver was the Lotus and the difference is really noticeable. I'm getting "high school" stoned with this thing.

Hey hello company!

I just tested a new configuration... which will replace my previous one.

I wanted to find a darker avb.
I started relying on the orange color of the flame...and got an avb too dark..

I find that at this level, it already leaves a parasitic smell/taste that is too strong for the next session. I took the opportunity to wash the stem... and look for other options.

And I am very happy with this configuration!
As a bonus, the leather loop makes it very easy to turn the TA while heating, then protect me from the heat and finally unscrew...

All these adjustments have improved the experience quite a bit! Better and better !!

VapingYogi

Pranayama; of a sort.
I am finding that the TA is probably my preferred choice to stretch my herbs, its reliably and complete extractions when using small amounts is why its the one I reach for. It's able to give a kick from flower - that I find hard to get from flower alone - a kick that usually requires some added concentrate or a much much larger bowl. While the flavour gets totally lost as the bowl goes on, the roast of the AVB is almost second to none (for me anyway). It's not the device I reach for when I get a new flower, like some wanna be sommelier I prefer my Tempest, but if I want to get a kick - and I want to save some money - I use my TA(3)

Myself and a couple of other people got it from Dovetail Woodworks. Function's and cools pretty good.
Thanks mate I will have a look.

another very very cool option

I will just keep using my Revolve until I find one that suits - but I have more to research now / thanks as always

Which stem is this? Where did you bought it?
@VapingYogi I own the TA3 and want to buy the tempest, what are the differences between them?

Probably better to move that question to the comparison threads:

It’s recovery!
I bought the TA2, then I no longer had money to buy a stem!!
but it's not any worse!

the glass stem is the basic configuration of the Toad
the glass beads and SS screens come from Dan Morrison. the smallest glass beads come from the Herbie V2... showing that there is good in everything... even in the worst vaporizer I have tried!
and the wooden tip was made by Tswoodenart.
