    Discontinued A Hot Pod

Thanks for asking! There are things going on behind the scenes, just nothing substantial to report yet. I'm at the mercy of external forces so I can't give any kind of guesstimation of when the new prototype will be ready. But believe me, I'm working on it!!!

HI Alan, thanks for posting the pic. Gives us some idea of what it would look like compared with my current design. I have to admit, it does look kind of cute and slim, but I'm finding myself agreeing with what KeroZen said and I think I'm ultimately gonna have to figure out a way to work around...

Thanks for your input. I agree, I really like the current shape, which is why I made it like that in the first place! Feels really nice in the hand too. But I'm thinking of moving to a side entry socket which would make things difficult. Still thinking if there is a way around it. Good to see...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

Wow, has it been almost a year since my last post? Anyway I've been doing some thinking... I haven't heard anything from the beta testers, but what I've noticed is that I've started melting my power cords. I don't know why I didn't see this sooner; maybe I've been running hotter temps lately...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

Just a bit of an update, although not much has happened so far. Seems like I spoke too soon regarding the workshop space... the person who offered it to me, after living in the house for many years, suddenly decided to move out  Anyway, I'm determined to get things moving so probably...

Thanks guys!!! Yes I hope I'll be cranking them out soon too! I'll be honest though, there are still some things I need to get organised before anything is going to happen, so there probably won't be a lot to see in this thread for a while. That's certainly not my intention :)

Thank you all for the positive comments! It's great to see some familiar names again! I hope that producing more of them doesn't diminish their appeal :p I must admit I'm becoming intrigued with the pen type vapes that are starting to come out. Here's what my test unit looks like after a year...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

Apologies for the long absence from this thread... my life has been turned upside down... I'll spare you the ugly details. HOWEVER, there is a strong possibility that I will have access to some workshop space where I can start making Hot Pods on an ongoing basis. I'm still using the same new...

Those cords off ebay are ok for normal use, but if you like to run the pod really hot, then they do tend to melt after a while. The one I'm referring to is what NewVape used to make the cord for his variable power supply. He wrote up some instructions for it a few pages back.

Yes the silicone still grips the same as always. Are you saying that your silicone has kind of hardened and therefore doesn't seal as well as it used to?

Having a few personal ups and downs at the moment... thanks for the encouraging comments :) I've been testing the new design and it's still going well. Performance is definitely superior to the previous version :brow: My main concern is with the longevity of the silicone, as it is kept...

I was trying to figure out why you objected to removing the stem from the silicone each time and then I realised that a lot of people would have had experiences with silicone tubing where it kind of suctions onto the glass and is annoying to remove. You end up pulling really hard and then it...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

This is how I felt for quite a while myself! Even after getting used to it I still felt it was an unnecessarily complicated process. To me, it's nice to just clear the bong, put it down and be done with it. Having said that, when I first started using the new design I would hold onto the bong...

That's a good point about thinning out the vapor, I hadn't thought about that. Although do you think you could pull the pod+stem up and let a little air into the mix as well? I realise it's probably not quite the same thing though, and advanced users might prefer to use the pod in the way you...
