I just got one of these used from a buddy a couple weeks ago, and have used it most nights since, and I haven't noticed any noise.

The standard cap I got a while back was really loose and had to be squeezed a bunch. I really did almost give up, and you have o squeeze harder than I was initially comfortable with.

I've got a SS tips for 2019, 2020, and 2021, and the standard Ti tip (before the 2021 line), and both my captive caps stay on all of them just fine. The indents even slide through the groves to twist on and off on the 2019 SS and the Ti tips. They even stay snug on the end of my OG glass VapCap...

Oh, wow, that is a weird price difference. In the US, Captive is $25 and standard is $20. I think both are fine, and for $5 less I'd go for the standard cap, but I don't mind the captive cap so I'm not bothered that it's what comes on everything either.

By "original" do you mean something other than the current standard cap? Cause 25 is not nearly double 20. I also think the captive caps are fine. I've got 3 standard caps (including one from the OG glass model which is a bit longer than the newer caps, and seems a tad snugger) and 2 captive...

I think some of that is just a teeny bit of smoke from the wooden heat shield charring, since there seems to be less of it over time despite no reduction in vapor seen on exhale (or effects, for that matter). Almost a shame that it seems to be going away as the heat shield chars, cause it looks...

When I mentioned that I charge mine off a power bank, perhaps I should have noted that the power bank I use is also capable of jump starting my car battery :lol:

You can also charge the Hotshot off a portable power bank, for days when one might not feel like being particularly reserved with their participation. 😉

I forgot to clean my 2020 M when I got it, and I didn't die, but that probably wasn't the best. (I've been using it a while, so I've cleaned it by now) Gonna try not to repeat that forgetfulness when my 2021 (and bonus 2020) arrive.

I've got my magnet secured using the gorilla 2 part epoxy I linked a page ago, and it's held pretty well for the last day. That's a pretty short while, but it didn't seem to be loosening so far.

A couple folks who pre-ordered early through emails from Dynavap already got theirs, and they've posted on Reddit that it's a 2020 M.

Right on. Thanks for advising. This thing is fantastic. I've never used another induction heater to compare it to, but the ease of use over a torch is huge. I've gotta experiment with how far past the click I can take it, but a couple seconds seems to hit about like a torch, and taking it out...
