Guess I really just needed a 3rd hand...I can now see 2 appropriately sized pliers being a decent way to gently (and temporarily I'd hope) "unscrew" a larger opening in the coil to allow the ZX to slip in.

A combo option that included the ZX preinstalled in a 16mm coil would have helped me out, mainly for the installation aspect.
